Accessibility statement

My Job Goblin is used on a phone in a van as often as at a desk, so it needs to work for everyone, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, zoom or voice control.

This statement covers myjobgoblin.com: the app tradespeople sign in to, the page where their customers view and approve a quote, and the public website.

How accessible it is

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.

We reviewed the product's code against every level A and AA criterion in September 2026 and fixed most of what we found. Automated tests now check several of those fixes, including labels on form fields, the contrast of form borders and focus outlines, and the skip link. We have not yet tested the product with a screen reader, so there may be problems we have not found.

You should be able to:

• zoom in on any page, in the browser or by pinching
• move through the app with a keyboard, and see where you are
• skip past the menu straight to the page content
• hear each form field's name with a screen reader
• use the app in portrait or landscape

Adjust how long messages stay on screen

Short messages pop up to say that something worked or went wrong. Error messages, and messages with a button in them such as Undo, stay until you close them. Other messages close after 10 seconds, and wait while your pointer is over one or you have moved to it with the keyboard. To move to the messages, press Alt and T together (Option and T on a Mac).

You can make every message stay until you close it. The setting is saved in this browser on this device, so it also applies when you sign in to the app, and on pages a tradesperson sends you a link to, such as a quote.

Problems we know about

• Adding a picture of your signature to a certificate needs a mouse or a touch screen. The picture is optional: you sign a certificate by ticking a box, which works with a keyboard, and customers approving a quote type their name.
• The animated product demo on the homepage shortens some sample names and details to fit on one line.
• Choosing an empty time on the calendar needs a mouse or a touch screen. The Schedule job button on a job does the same with a keyboard.

How we checked

We reviewed the product's code against each WCAG 2.1 level A and AA success criterion in September 2026.

Automated tests load every screen of the app, a sample quote, invoice, customer and property, a customer's quote page, the certificate pages and every page of the public website at 390 and 320 pixels wide, and fail if a page scrolls sideways. They do not yet cover pop-up windows, the pages accountants use, or a few pages reached only from an email link, such as unsubscribing.

We will update this statement when we test with assistive technology, and whenever we fix or find a problem.
